Read: Luke 15:11-24 (Parable of the Lost Son)
I think this parable has been told so many times already that I think no Sunday schooled kid would not know this story. But I think it deserves to be repeated again and again.
Many does whatever they want. They ask for whatever things they like. And they get it. But these are things that will only exist for quite some time. When one dies, it’ll be gone too.
So I think blessed are the children of God. That is because of either of these three scenarios:
1. A person may get everything, all the things in these world but once that is gone, God always welcomes those who hunger for Him, just like how the son wanted to go back to his father.
2. A person may have nothing. But he has God, so he also has everything. (Psalms 24:1)
3. A person may only have some. He does not have eveything. He does not have nothing. But he has something. I think that lacking part was made to be there so that the person won’t forget to ask and hold onto Jesus, so that he won’t be proud.
Either of these scenarios, I think God will always hold onto his children.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
